چکیده

Dalton-Griffin and Kellam: Journal of Biology 2009, 8:67 Abstract Molecular techniques for identifying pathogens associated with cancer continue to be developed, including one reported recently in BMC Medical Genomics. Identifying a causal infectious agent helps in understanding the biology of these cancers and can lead ultimately to the development of antimicrobial drugs and vaccines for their treatment and prevention.

The prevalence of Mycoplasma hyorhinis contamination in tissues samples from cancer patients: A Brief Report

Infectious agents cause 15-20% of cancers worldwide. The infectious agents and contamination may be caused by a local chronic and advanced local inflammatory response, or by tumorization. Mycoplasma contamination can interfere with biological agents and cause DNA damage which affects gene expression, and disrupts the control of cell cycle inspection and apoptotic responses. Mycoplasmas are wide...

Casual role of infectious agents in cancer: An overview

Cancer is a complex group of diseases with multiple eventual causes. The underlying causes are not fully known. Thus, learning more about the known causes of cancer is an important issue. Moreover, among these factors, infection and its association to cancers is controversial. Although, it seems that the genome instability of the cells can initiate cancer development. The purpose of this review...

نقش هلیکوباکتر پیلوری در ایجاد سرطان معده و کاربردهای بالینی آن در درمان سر طان‌ها

The repeated exposure of a normal cell to carcinogenic agents may lead to its mutation, which changes into a cancer cell. In this case, the structure and function of the cells would alter, and they do not act normally. Chemicals, sun exposure, shortwaves, viruses, and bacteria play a significant role in cancer. Among the infectious and bacterial agents causing cancer, Helicobacter pylori (H. py...

Infectious causes of chronic inflammatory diseases and cancer.

Powerful diagnostic technology, plus the realization that organisms of otherwise unimpressive virulence can produce slowly progressive chronic disease with a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations and disease outcomes, has resulted in the discovery of new infectious agents and new concepts of infectious diseases. The demonstration that final outcome of infection is as much determined by the g...

Infectious disease and cancer.

With the recent advances in molecular biology and genetics over the past several decades, we have grad-ually uncovered the elusive cause of some of the malignant diseases that have been, and continue to be, a major factor in human mortality. Infectious disease agents, so ubiquitous in our environment, have now become the most credible link in our search for the cause of cancer. The number of ma...
